Ititii, GHC's seventh village in Kisii District, is one of our smallest, with only 1200 inhabitants. Like Kegati village, it is considered a semi-urban village since it is close in proximity to Kisii town. We began this CHEC in November 2021 and built the apiary in the late summer of 2021. The Ititi beekeeping group is small but mighty. The group and apiary are managed by Peus, a CHEC member who is very well-versed in all things bees. All the members have learned from him and now are able to help him work and maintain a healthy, thriving apiary.

25 of the 30 hives are fully colonized, and our last harvest in February '24 produced a whopping 30 liters of honey. The apiary sits up in the green hills above the village and is surrounded by abundant coffee and banana trees. The setting is ideal for bees.

This bunch is dedicated and hard-working and are eager to keep expanding and adding more hives!
