Mokubo, a village in Kisii District, comprised of 3000 inhabitants, is where it all started for Global Health Connections. We began our first CHEC here in December 2020 and built our first apiary in the fall of 2021. This apiary has been successful as all 10 hives are colonized and the bee populations are strong and healthy. The bees feast on a variety of flora, including eucalyptus, grevillea and banana trees.
The two apiary managers are competent and enthusiastic and expanding this apiary is on our horizon.
